52 in 2014 Challenge – #4: Got My Mind Set on You
I love Indian food.
I knew nothing about it and never tried it until I had a chance to go to India in 2007. I was warned by more than one person that I wouldn’t like the food and would struggle to eat while I was there. They were very wrong, and I developed a love of Indian cuisine. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend trying it at least once.
Naan is a type of flatbread common in parts of Asia. It is a common part of Indian meals, along with other flatbreads such as roti. It is typically cooked in a tandoor, a cylindrical oven (traditionally clay, but metal can also be used). It is wonderful plain or brushed with butter. It is also used to scoop up other foods, which is very common in India and something I have picked up as well.
Oh – the theme tie-in. I’ve had my mind set on getting Indian food for a couple of weeks now, and it was only yesterday my wife and I had a chance to go to our local restaurant.
Well Goodness Gracious Me!

I love Indian food. We have a couple excellent restaurants close by, one featuring South Indian cuisine. Your photo is making me hungry!

I have tried Indian food on a few occasions and have not especially liked it…although, this looks like something I would LOVE….your picture is making my mouth water!

I have tried Indian food a couple of times and I’ve like some and not others. I don’t have a love of curry and I’ve come to understand that if the curry isn’t overpowering that I enjoy it. Great image of the Naan, that does look like something I might like to try. Is it the same texture as pita bread?

It is similar to a pita bread. I think it is a bit lighter overall, and typically served hot.

Looks like something we would love to try.

Yeah, cravings for a given food can certainly possess one’s mind! Great interpretation of the theme.

My local Indian restaurant is called Angeethi, they do a fabulous garlic naan, goes great with the lamb korma. Makes my mouth water.

I didn’t mention it in the post, but my wife and I love garlic naan as well!

I made Indian food this weekend. There are lots of Indian restaurants in the UK (of varying qualities) and Peshwari naan is my favourite,

I have heard that the UK has great Indian food. I hope to try it there some day. I applaud you for making your own – that is not something I am likely to try.

I like indian food a lot and we have several good restaurants in Stockholm. Occasionally I make some “indian-like” food myself 🙂

Put a little chicken and cheese in there and you got Mexican right? “Tastes like chicken”:)

My son-in-law makes a mean curry but think it is more in the Thai style. I’d like to try it…probably not as “risky” as Chinese with all their chicken feet etc. Am sure I’d like that “bread”.
