52 in 2014 Challenge: #16: If I Had A Hammer

April 26, 2014

“If I had a bell,
I’d ring it in the morning,
I’d ring it in the evening,
All over this land,
I’d ring out danger,
I’d ring out a warning,
I’d ring out love between,
My brothers and my sisters,
All over this land.”

One of the bell towers of the Catedral de Barcelona, in Barcelona, Spain. The Gothic Cathedral is built on the foundations of a early Christian basilica and a Romanesque cathedral build after that. Construction on this cathedral started in 1298 and completed about 150 years later.  Additional work was completed in the early 20th century.  More information about the church can be found on their website here.  I have some other photos I hope to share later that show the various architecture styles used near the cathedral.

  1. Beautiful architecture. The texture and color are wonderful.

  2. More –
I’d build a big tall house with rooms by the dozen,
right in the middle of the town.
With one long staircase just going up,
and one even longer coming down, and
And one that’s leading no-where – just for show!
    Isn’t it?
    Great capture.

  3. That is intricate workmanship!

  5. never been to Barcelona but it’s on my must-se list most because of those great architecture buildings
