A Golden Marsh in the Morning

November 27, 2013

This was taken on a cold, overcast morning in Guilford, CT (on the CT shoreline). We were driving by on the way to somewhere, so the timing was not planned and the lighting was not very good, but I was looking for an opportunity to test my new Sony DSC RX-100 a little more. The original shot was really quite drab and I couldn’t do much in LR or PSE to make it better, but I wanted to do something with this shot. So I started playing around with my Topaz filters, and ended up using Adjust, with a setting I rarely use – Venice Painting. Often those more extreme settings produce some pretty harsh results, but I like what it did with this shot.  I did a few other adjustments in PSE (and my thanks to a few contributors at the Elements Village forum for providing feedback on an early version).
