The remarkable DC-3/C-47

August 30, 2013

Another shot from the Great New England Wings and Wheels show. This is the DC-3/C-47.  Originally flown in December, 1935, there are DC-3’s still in regular use today. They have been used for commercial aviation and freight transport, and adopted for a wide range of other services. The US  military C-47 version was used from World War II through Vietnam. This specific aircraft, from the American Air Power Museum, was used by the US, France and Israel.
